Cornwall, ON – A 12-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 16, 2026, and charged with mischief – destroys or damages property. On Sept. 13, 2026, a Cornwall Police Service detective observed a video circulating on social media depicting vandalism at the Cornwall Cenotaph, and an investigation ensued. On Sept. 16, 2026, the officer developed reasonable and probable grounds to charge the youth, who was in police custody at the time. He was charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and remained in custody to await a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 16, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on March 6, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking. On Sept. 16, 2026, a CPS officer initiated a traffic stop and located the man inside the motor vehicle. The warrant was executed and he was later released to appear in court on Oct. 20, 2026.

TAKE MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT CONSENT

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 16, 2026, and charged with take motor vehicle without consent. On Sept. 16, 2026, police were dispatched to a local high school in relation to a stolen motor vehicle complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth took a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner and drove the vehicle. He was located, taken into police custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 17, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order. In the early morning hours of Sept. 17, 2026, police were dispatched to a trouble with youth complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged he was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence during specific hours. Police located the youth and it is further alleged he breached the conditions of his curfew. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
