UTTERING THREATS, DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, THEFT

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 17, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with theft under $5,000.

On Aug. 30, 2026, Cornwall Police Service officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman threatened to kill her boyfriend, assaulted the man with a screwdriver and stole money from him.

As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for her arrest on the charges of:

• Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic
• Domestic assault with a weapon
• Theft under $5,000

On Sept. 17, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a local high school in relation to a theft complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman stole a student’s scooter. As a result of the investigation, the officer developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. The woman was subsequently located and taken into custody by CPS officers. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 8, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 17, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Five counts of fail to comply with probation order
• Fail to comply with release order
• Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting

It is alleged on Sept. 9, 2026, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business. He was also bound by a third probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a release order with the relevant condition to not attend a Second Street East business. It is further alleged on this date, the man attended the Second Street East business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Sept. 17, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 17, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on April 28, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared. On Sept. 17, 2026, a CPS officer initiated an investigation into an unwanted person complaint. The man was subsequently located and taken into police custody. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND, RESIST PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 17, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with resist peace officer.

It is alleged on Sept. 8, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend for court as per undertaking.

On Sept. 17, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a threats complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located by police. While being taken into custody, it is alleged he resisted arrest and attempted to flee from police. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
