FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 22, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with the following:

• Four counts of fail to comply with probation order
• Eight counts of fail to comply with undertaking
• Three counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting

It is alleged in the early morning hours of Sept. 12, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Marlborough Street business. She was also allegedly bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not attend the specific Marlborough Street business and to not enter the areas within 50 metres of the business. It is further alleged on this date, the woman attended the Marlborough Street business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.

It is alleged that later on Sept. 12, 2026, the woman was once again bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Marlborough Street business. She was also allegedly bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not attend the specific Marlborough Street business and to not enter the areas within 50 metres of the business. It is further alleged on this date, the woman returned to the Marlborough Street business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and once again exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest on the charges of:

• Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
• Two counts of fail to comply with undertaking
• Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting

It is further alleged that twice on Sept. 22, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Marlborough Street business. She was also allegedly bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not attend the specific Marlborough Street business, to not enter the areas within 50 metres of the business and to notify the CPS of any change of address within 24 hours. It is further alleged on this date, the woman twice attended the Marlborough Street business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store on each occasion without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were once again developed for her arrest.

Later on Sept. 22, 2026, the woman was located by CPS officers, who were on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. After a brief foot pursuit, she was taken into police custody. Further investigation revealed the woman failed to notify police of a change of address. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 22, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 8, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend for court – as per undertaking. On Sept. 22, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was later released to appear in court on Nov. 8, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 23, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. On Sept. 15, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he assaulted his girlfriend. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with probation order and domestic assault. In the early morning hours of Sept. 23, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a suspicious person complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was located and taken into police custody. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.
