FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 24, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 10, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared. On Sept. 24, 2026, the woman was located and taken into custody by a Cornwall Police Service officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on Nov. 5, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 24, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Sept. 24, 2026, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not contact or communicate with his ex-girlfriend and to not be within 150 metres of any place he knows her to live, work or frequent. It is further alleged he was in contact with his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located by police and taken into custody. He was charged accordingly and held in custody for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 24, 2026, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on Sept. 8, 2026, and again on Sept. 16, 2026, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store on each occasion without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and investigations ensued – led by Community Safety Officers. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.

On Sept. 24, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a Ninth Street East business in relation to a theft complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was located and taken into police custody. He was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 3, 2026.

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, ADMINISTER NOXIOUS THING, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 24, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Assault with a weapon
• Administer noxious thing
• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

It is alleged on Sept. 24, 2026, the youth assaulted an individual known to him by spraying him with bear spray. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located and taken into police custody. He was charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and released to appear in court at a later date.
