DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old man from Williamstown was arrested on Sept. 25, 2026, and charged with three counts of domestic assault and one count of mischief – destroys or damages property. On Aug. 26, 2026, a member of the Cornwall Police Service initiated an investigation into a historical intimate partner violence complaint. It is alleged between Jan. 1, 2012, and Dec. 31, 2012, the man assaulted his spouse. It is further alleged on Dec. 31, 2012, the man assaulted the woman and damaged her property. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On Sept. 25, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 20, 2026.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 25, 2026, and charged with mischief under $5,000. On Sept. 25, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a Vincent Massey Drive convenience store in regard to a mischief complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth damaged windows at the business. He was subsequently located, taken into police custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 26, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 24, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court. In the early morning hours of Sept. 26, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on Nov. 3, 2026.   

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 27, 2026, and charged with assault causing bodily harm. On Sept. 27, 2026, a CPS officer initiated an investigation in relation to an assault complaint. It is alleged on Sept. 25, 2026, the man punched an individual known to him in the face, causing injuries. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. Later, on Sept. 27, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 3, 2026.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Two 28-year-old women from Cornwall were arrested on Sept. 27, 2026, and each charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Sept. 27, 2026, the women attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. They were taken into custody by the Loss Prevention Officer at the business and subsequently turned over to CPS officers. The women were charged accordingly and later released to each appear in court on Nov. 5, 2026.  

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 56-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, both from Kemptville, NS, were arrested on Sept. 27, 2026, and each charged with fail to comply with undertaking. On Sept. 27, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to the Port of Entry in relation to a bail violation complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the individuals were each bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to remain within the province of Nova Scotia. The man and woman were taken into custody by members of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. They were charged accordingly and held in custody to await a bail hearing.  

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 177 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the weekend (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today).
