SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 28, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on July 20, 2026, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Patrol Support Unit officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Sept. 28, 2026, the man attended Cornwall Police Service headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 5, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old woman from Vankleek Hill, ON, was arrested on Sept. 28, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. On July 30, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not associate or communicate, directly or indirectly with her ex-spouse, to not attend at or be within 100 metres of his person, place of residence, employment or any place he may be and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged the woman was in contact with her ex-spouse in the City of Cornwall. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest on the charges of three counts of fail to comply with undertaking. On Sept. 28, 2026, the woman was located at the courthouse. The warrant was executed and she was returned to cells to await a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, THEFT

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 28, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000. On Aug. 27, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to investigate a theft complaint. It is alleged on Aug. 26, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he stole an individual’s e-bike from their workplace. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On Sept. 28, 2026, a CPS officer was patrolling the area of Vincent Massey Drive in relation to several complaints from nearby businesses. The man was subsequently located by the officer. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 3, 2026.
