SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 29, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on July 30, 2026, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Patrol Support Unit officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Sept. 29, 2026, the man was located at the courthouse. He was charged accordingly and returned to cells to await a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 29, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Aug. 9, 2026, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in her residence between specific hours. It is further alleged she breached the conditions of her curfew. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Sept. 29, 2026, the woman was located at the courthouse. She was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 5, 2026.

UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 63-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 29, 2026, and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. On Sept. 29, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a threats complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman threatened to kill her neighbour. She was subsequently located and taken into police custody. The woman was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 3, 2026.

FAIL TO ATTEND, FAIL TO COMPLY, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 29, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with the following:

• Fail to comply with probation order
• Operation while prohibited
• Obstruct peace officer

It is alleged on Dec. 16, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court.

On Sept. 29, 2026, a CPS officer initiated a traffic stop, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he provided police with a false name and date of birth and was operating a modified bicycle turned into a motorcycle while prohibited, in addition to multiple Highway Traffic Act violations. The man was taken into police custody. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 3, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 49-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 29, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Sept. 14, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence or on his property at all times. It is further alleged he failed to comply with the condition by leaving his residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Sept. 29, 2026, the man was taken into custody by members of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service and subsequently turned over to the CPS. He was charged accordingly and held in custody for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 29, 2026, and charged with domestic assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic. On Sept. 27, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to investigate an intimate partner violence complaint. It is alleged on this date, the man assaulted his girlfriend and threatened to shoot her. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On Sept. 29, 2026, a CPS officer initiated a traffic stop and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was held in police custody for a bail hearing.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old man from Brasher Falls, NY, was arrested on Sept. 30, 2026, and charged with operation while prohibited. In the early morning hours of Sept. 30, 2026, a CPS officer initiated a traffic stop, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 3, 2026.
