FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 3, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 1, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared. On Sept. 3, 2026, the man attended Cornwall Police Service headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.   

FAIL TO COMPLY, THEFT, USE CREDIT CARD DATA

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 3, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
• Theft under $5,000
• Use credit card data

On Aug. 28, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to investigate a theft from motor vehicle that occurred overnight. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not possess credit or debit cards unless they have been lawfully issued in his name. It is further alleged he stole the individual’s wallet and used a credit card to make a fraudulent purchase at a convenience store. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the man’s arrest. On Sept. 3, 2026, he was located by a CPS officer. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 8, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 68-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 3, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Fail to comply with probation order
• Fail to comply with release order
• Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting

It is alleged on Aug. 19, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a release order which prohibits him from entering any retail store except in the accompaniment of an adult with no criminal record. It is further alleged on this date, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Sept. 3, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old woman from Laval, QC, was arrested on Sept. 3, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Sept. 3, 2026, the woman attended a Water Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was later released to appear in court on Oct. 8, 2026.

FAIL TO ATTEND, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 4, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with fail to comply with appearance notice – fingerprinting as well as mischief under $5,000.

It is alleged on Aug. 18, 2026, the youth was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. Police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.

It is also alleged on Aug. 25, 2026, the youth was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court.

In the early morning hours of Sept. 4, 2026, a CPS officer was conducting patrol in the downtown area of the City of Cornwall when he observed individuals allegedly damaging property outside a business on Second Street East. The youth was taken into police custody, and the warrant was executed. He was subsequently charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and held in custody for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old man from Lancaster was arrested on Sept 4, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order and mischief under $5,000. In the early morning hours of Sept. 4, 2026, a CPS officer was conducting patrol in the downtown area of the City of Cornwall when he observed individuals allegedly damaging property outside a business on Second Street East. It is also alleged the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not communicate in any way with a specific individual and to not be within 100 metres of the individual. It is further alleged he was in the presence of the individual he was prohibited from communicating with while committing mischief. The man was taken into police custody, charged accordingly and held in custody for a bail hearing.
