Search warrant results in arrests of three individuals

SEARCH WARRANT RESULTS IN ARRESTS OF THREE INDIVIDUALS

Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Police Service, led by members of the Cornwall Emergency Response Team (CERT), executed multiple search warrants in the early morning hours of Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, in the area of Walton Street and St. Felix Street.

Distraction devices were deployed during the operation and were heard in the surrounding area. No firearms were discharged by police.

The ongoing investigation is a collaborative effort involving members of the CPS Street Crime Unit (SCU) and Criminal Investigation Division (CID), as well as the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU) and Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

As a result of the search warrants, three individuals were taken into custody and face numerous weapons- and drug-related charges.

Lori McConkey, 63, William Hill, 66, and Michelle Richer, 37, were arrested and each charged with the following:

  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Breach of firearms regulation – store firearm or restricted weapon
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

During the execution of the search warrants, officers seized quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as a loaded handgun, pellet gun, brass knuckles and knives. Police also seized packaging materials and scales consistent with drug trafficking, a large sum of Canadian currency and a significant collection of jewelry.

The three individuals were subsequently charged and remained in police custody pending bail hearings.
